Antoan is one of the regular 5:30 AM class attenders. In fact, he's so regular that he has only missed one class since he completed on-ramp. His consistent attendance is one of the keys to his great progress. Since he started at CFA, Antoan has continued to push himself to accomplish things he never thought he could. We're so proud of him, and can't wait to see what his consistent, steady progress will bring in the future!
How long have you been CrossFitting? One year
What did you try before CrossFit? I did a lot of different programs: P90X, Insanity, 21 day fix, Met-Rx180, routines I made up, and I ran a lot, just trying to do anything that kept me moving and losing weight.
What made you try it? I would never have tried it, but my lady bought groupons for us. When she walked in and saw how it worked, she said "this is not for me!" But in my head I knew this was for me and I stuck with it.
What do you like most about CrossFit? I definitely leave feeling like I got a workout every time. It's very challenging. No one likes going into the gym and feeling like you didn't get a good workout.
Biggest accomplishment? Being able to do different types of lifts: power clean, squats, deadlifts, etc. I never lifted before I came to CrossFit Augusta. Blake makes sure I get everything right. Even when I think I've got it down, he will notice something and correct me.
What are your favorite things about CrossFit Augusta? The workouts and the great coaches. Blake is patient and willing to teach us how to get it right.
Anything else? CrossFit has helped me meet my weight goals. My fitness journey started in 2014. I lost a lot of weight, and then I started CrossFit and lost more. I learned that when I look at the WODs and think I can't do them, it's just mental. You just have to challenge yourself.
